The Scrub Ritual: Recipe & Application
A three-month infusion for a momentary escape.
The "Mountain Smooth" Recipe:
2 oz Organic Dried Lavender Buds (roughly 1.5 cups)
8 oz Organic Olive Oil
1.5 oz Pure White Beeswax (pellets or grated)
Realized Yield: Approximately 10 oz (enough to fill five 2 oz glass jars or two 5 oz glass jars).
Our Artisanal Process:
The Long Steep: Submerge the lavender buds in the olive oil in a sanitized pint glass jar. Seal and store in a cool, dark place for at least three months. This ensures the oil is saturated with lavender’s natural skin-soothing properties.
The Pulverization: Once the infusion is complete, pour the oil and the buds into a high-powered food grinder or "Ninja." Pulverize until the buds become a fine, soft paste. This creates a "micro-scrub" that polishes without the harshness of salt or sugar.
The Velvet Blend: Gently melt the white beeswax in a double boiler. Once liquid, stir in your pulverized lavender-oil mixture. Mix thoroughly until the texture is uniform and creamy.
The Jarring: While the mixture is still warm and pourable, carefully transfer it into small glass jars. Allow them to sit undisturbed for 2 hours until they reach their final, firm-yet-buttery consistency.
How to Use:
Scoop a small amount and massage thoroughly into dry or damp hands, focusing on the cuticles and rough patches. Rinse with warm water. Pro Tip: This scrub is also extraordinary for smoothing tired feet.
Note: Due to the concentrated nature of the lavender and oils, do NOT use this scrub on your face.
